Fresh Healthy Vending, a leader in the healthy vending machine industry, has officially launched their new line of machines, the Fresh Healthy Vending Cafes. The new machines, which will be located throughout office buildings, college campuses, call centers, and retail stores across the U.S. and Canada, offer consumers the ability to have fresh ground organic coffee with the touch of a button.
“These high-tech vending machines grind, and brew, organic coffee beans on demand, and around the clock, serving a selection of espresso coffee drinks, mochas, and vanilla lattes, along with an assortment of healthy snacks and drinks,” explained Dan Negroni, CEO of Fresh Healthy Vending. Seattle’s Best Coffee, who also recently launched a coffee vending machine reports they expect to sell roughly 10,000 cups per year, per machine, with their machines being located in grocery stores alongside their current DVD vending machines.
“This is music to our ears, as our own Fresh Healthy Vending Cafes sell a larger selection of specialty coffee drinks, as well as a popular range of natural, organic and healthy snacks,” says Negroni.
Fresh Healthy Vending is expanding beyond its original healthy snack machines, as they continue to boost sales for its franchise network across America. The company anticipates around 250 of these machines will roll out by the end of 2012, with tens of thousands more being added over the next several years. Fresh Healthy Vending also has plans for another new high-tech vending machine coming soon, that is destined to revolutionize and rejuvenate the food vending industry once again.
According to the Lempert Report, a respected news and commentary source for the food and beverage industry, due to the rise of single-person households, the eating needs of younger people, and the time crunch of chief household shoppers, new markets now exist and are evolving for 24-hour vending with the right location strategies. This report observes that changing consumer lifestyles have increased the need for good food values for consumers on the run.
With Fresh Healthy Vending’s experience in high-quality healthy snack vending and knowledge in automatic retail methods, the new Fresh Healthy Vending Cafe will likely reach out to locations where it’s traditionally hard to find great coffee and healthy snacks. Soon, with their help of the new machines, fresh tasting organic specialty coffee drinks and healthy snacks will be at consumers’ fingertips 24-hours a day.

Healthy foods and drinks are headed to Sanger and will be available from an unlikely source — vending machines.
A group of local residents have purchased the Sanger vending machine franchise rights from San Diego-based Fresh Healthy Vending, which has junked vending machine junk food and sweet sodas in favor of juices, smoothies, soymilk, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, granola bars and baked chips. The company also produces a vending machine called Fresh Healthy Café that perks up gourmet organic coffee.
Whole coffee beans are ground up in the machine in a process that takes only 40 seconds.
Franchisees Ross and Colleen Horn, Mike and Narda Spencer and Darrick and Amy DeGraw are in the process of selecting locations where each machine will be placed. “We are happy to bring fresh vending to Fresno, Kings and Tulare Counties in California,” said Dan Negroni, chief executive officer of Fresh Healthy Vending, in a release. “People are ready to embrace this as a way to obtain to embrace this as a way to obtain healthy food on the run.”
Fresh Healthy Vending machines are already in place at ACEL Fresno Charter School and Fresno Unified School District Food and Nutrition Department in Fresno, Visalia YMCA and YMCA summer Camp at Sequoia Lake in Visalia, and YMCA of Kings County in Hanford.
Sanger’s Fresh Healthy Vending machines will add to 1,700 machines that have been set up at office break rooms, school campuses, shopping malls, hospitals and other locations throughout North America. So far, more than 130 franchises have been kicked off.
Fresh Healthy Vending touts its vending products as a means to keep minds and
bodies in better shape. “This in turn helps to eliminate the junk food, which is associated with causing obesity, higher absenteeism and higher medical insurance rates,” a release from Fresh Healthy Vending stated.
“This is a great way to offer people some healthy food,” Negroni added. “Increasingly people are becoming aware of the importance of eating healthy, prompting them to make more nutritious food choices, even on the run.”
Fresh Healthy Vending formed in 2010 with a goal of revolutionizing vending machines by going full out healthy with its snack selections. And the company continues to avoid, providing junk foods, which have been a staple in traditional vending machines.
Fresh Healthy Vending and Healthy Child Healthy World have teamed up to give away a free healthy vending machine placement. The winning entry will choose their favorite location to have the machine placed, completely stocked with healthy foods and beverages. The move is the latest in a series of ongoing efforts to help fight childhood obesity, an issue that the Centers for Disease Control says now affects 17 percent of all children and adolescents in America.
“The rate of childhood obesity is considered to be triple what it was a generation ago,” explains Dan Negroni, the chief executive officer and president of Fresh Healthy Vending Café (freshvending.com). “Our mission is to be part of the solution in fighting childhood obesity, and this is just one more way that we are helping to do that. Now at least one lucky consumer will have their say on where a healthy vending machine should be placed.”
To enter to win a free Healthy Vending Machine for their favorite location, participants can log onto the site at FreshandHealthy.org and share their story about why their favorite local gym, recreation center or other location deserves the machine. The deadline to enter is July 30, 2012. All entrants must include their full name, email, phone number, and the address where they would like to see the healthy vending machine placed.
“We are thrilled to work with a company that is striving to transform a traditionally unhealthy industry,” says Gigi Lee Chang, CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World. “Today, snacking makes up about 27% of a child’s daily calorie intake. With the rise in concerns around hydrogenated oils, genetically modified ingredients and artificial ingredients, we need to re-think the types of snacks our children have access to during the school day.”
Fresh Healthy Vending machines have revolutionized the industry, providing dual-climate-controlled machines that also offer cold foods. Each machine is stocked with all-healthy food options, including fresh vegetables, fruits, yogurts, smoothies, 100-percent fruit juices, tea and healthy granola bars, among other items. The company has placed over 1,700 machines across the U.S. and in Canada. They also recently launched the Fresh Healthy Vending Café, a machine that offers a variety of healthy food options, as well as fresh-ground and -brewed gourmet organic coffee. Vending machines have come a long way. While they started out being drab, boring, and stocked with often times old junk food options, today they are anything but. The new trend in vending machines today are those that are brightly colored, sleek, and high tech. So much so that they are stocked with all healthy foods options, and even grind up coffee beans and serve up a cup of organic coffee within seconds. In the vending industry, times have certainly changed, and that change has been fueled by a tech-savvy society.
“Why high tech vending and why now?” says Dan Negroni, chief executive officer of Fresh Healthy Vending, the nationwide leader in healthy vending. “It’s really clear to us that for most people it’s about convenience and the ability to buy high quality products, such as organic coffee drinks and healthy snacks, at the office or in the front of a retail store. For retailers, it’s about introducing new products that enhances the customer experience and keeps them in the store shopping longer.”
In grocery stores across the U.S. people rent movies and video games from big Red Boxes. At last count there were over 45,000 of the machines currently operating. At Airports and Shopping Malls across the U.S., consumers can purchase iPads, Droid Phones, Digital Camera’s, High End Beauty Products, and even Language Software from a giant automated kiosks, as well as being able to download movies to a portable flash drive that will play on their computer.
The economics make it easy to see why retailers are turning to vending machines for all types of product offerings. Retail stores produce about $250 a square foot a year in sales, while a 9 square foot vending machine can generate $5,000 to $10,000 a square foot a year, according to Negroni. For office managers and business owners it’s about lowering company insurance premiums by offering healthier snack and drink options to employees as well as keeping employees productive and in their desks. Corporate Wellness policies are becoming a part of almost any business with over 75 employees.
Fresh Healthy Vending, with over 1,700 locations nationwide and who recently introduced the Fresh Healthy Vending Café, understands consumer needs when it comes to offering specialty coffee drinks and healthy eating options, and knows the “sky’s the limit” when it comes to how many locations the machines can be placed in.
Do these new high tech vending machines mean the end of brick and mortar retail stores? “Not really,” says Negroni. “They just complement what specialty retail stores offer by their ability to be almost everywhere people are everyday. We see this as just the beginning of the new self-service revolution that is taking hold in the U.S. and why this is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs looking for a flexible business with no employees necessary.”
Fresh Healthy Vending recently announced the launch of its new Healthy Vending Café. The innovative vending machines, exclusive only to Fresh Healthy Vending Franchisees, are creating a whole new category in the vending industry, by offering organic specialty coffees and nationally branded healthy snacks and drinks, all in the same machine.
“Our research showed that consumer demand for healthier espresso coffee, combined with healthy snack and beverage options in a single vending footprint would be a “slam dunk,” says Dan Negroni, CEO of Fresh Healthy Vending. “Our Fresh Healthy Vending Café’s are like having a mini-Starbucks store in a retailer or office building. Now when people go to their office or place of work they no longer have to stop before work or leave at break time as the Fresh Healthy Vending Café is there to serve their needs.”
Fresh Healthy Vending Café are also being placed inside traditional grocery store chains, health-food stores, big box retailers, car dealers, tire stores, oil change stores, and a variety of other places where people shop on a daily basis.
Fresh Healthy Vending Café’s is expected to have the same impact on specialty coffee and healthy snacking consumption that Redbox did on the video retail chains, such as Blockbuster. Consumers are increasingly seeking a simple and convenient way to access the products they want where they work and shop, and automated retail is certainly the future of retail as space and labor costs continue to rise.
The Fresh Healthy Vending Café provides a new approach to engaging retailers —designed to increase employee productivity and decrease absenteeism in office buildings, as well as to keep customers shopping in retail environments.
Fresh Healthy Vending’s business model is to continue to promote innovative technologies and services that serve the needs of consumers, as well as compliment retail channels, as they are continuously searching for solutions to engage customers and improve the overall shopping experience.
